Household disinfectants are a common staple in most homes, more so during fall and winter months as families try to prevent flu and other contagious viruses. According to Granite Gold, typical disinfectants, while effective at killing most viruses, pose a threat to natural-stone surfaces—damaging counters, floors, vanities, shower walls and other stone areas, leading to costly repair and replacement. In response the company created a solution to help families protect against the spread of flu and other viruses and from damaging their stone surfaces.

Granite Gold has launched its Disinfecting Wipes, which are disposable wipes designed to kill germs and not harm sealed stone surfaces. With 35 wipes per package, they are approved by the U.S. EPA for use on sealed stone surfaces and are also suitable for use on counter tops, sinks, faucets, exterior surfaces of appliances, bathtubs, toilets and showers. They can also be used on doorknobs, glazed tiled floors and children’s toys. Granite Gold Disinfecting Wipes are 99.9% effective in killing household bacteria, including influenza A virus, influenza B virus, Salmonella enterica, Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa the company says.

Granite Gold Disinfecting Wipes are designed to disinfect, not clean. After letting the application sit on the surface for at least five minutes, it should be rinsed with potable water and then cleaned.
